Welcome to the historic center of university life!
Faculties, preparatory schools, research center, library: higher education is inscribed in the DNA of this district which takes its name from the language used in medieval faculties. Even if, since the 1960s, the university has been scattered all over Paris and its immediate suburbs, the Latin Quarter still has the largest concentration of places of study today.
Here life revolves at the student’s pace at any time of the day. Examples. 9 a.m.: lunch at the Viennese Pastry Shop (you need to stock up on calories to cope with a day at university!). 10 a.m.: class. 1 p.m.: lunch at Resto U or sandwich outdoors in the Luxembourg Gardens or on Place Jussieu. 2 p.m.: library time.
Saint-Barbe, Sainte-Geneviève or Cujas. 6 p.m.: happy hour! We relax with a 3€ pint on rue Mouffetard. Crazy bars, historic cellars that transform into nightclubs, roots bars at low prices. The sun hasn’t set yet but the night has already begun… Let’s go!
